I had to deal with a lot of anxiety throughout my childhood. I couldn't get to sleep because I was afraid I wouldn't get enough sleep.
When I first stayed at a monastery for a meditation retreat at age 9, I was met with this chaos of mind. It felt like meditation was making things worse, so I kept forgetting about it after.
It was much later that I realized meditation wasn't making things worse; it was revealing what had already been there but hadn't received any attention. By turning my attention toward my experience and contemplating its contents, I began to sense the ocean beneath it.
This has been my journey since, studying ancient wisdom and guiding innovators to create their most meaningful work without breaking themselves. As a former dancer and choreographer, my work integrates coaching, meditation, and movement to provide a new context for health and well-being and to expand our capacity to perceive and create.
I lead a meditation community of a couple hundred members and teach and speak at centers and organizations around the world. I co-authored Peace Design, a guidebook to end conflict and create peace. I also co-founded Pilgrimage Partners, leading sacred journeys in the Himalayas, and developed the HELD Method™, helping scale-ups and enterprises unlock evolutionary innovation.
